Susan Olender, MD

Dr. Susan Olender is board certified in internal medicine and completed post residency training in HIV primary care.

Experience

Dr. Olender is an instructor of clinical medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City where she also is on staff in the Division of Infectious Disease, specializing in HIV primary care. Dr. Olender's interests include epidemiology and clinical research.

Education

Dr. Olender received her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany, and earned her medical degree at the NYU School of Medicine, where she co-founded the first medical-student-operated free clinic in Manhattan and received university recognition. Dr. Olender completed her residency at Columbia University Medical Center and her post-residency training through the New York State Nicholas Rango HIV Clinical Scholars Program. In recognition of her extraordinary patient advocacy efforts, Dr. Olender was the recipient of the prestigious Joseph N. Muschel House Staff Award. Dr. Olender is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Health at the Mailman School of Public Health.
